1) Pet stains and odor resistant.

When your concrete flooring is sealed with the protective film-forming sealer or floor finish, pet urine simply can not seep through the pores at all, therefore there will be no lingering unwanted odors and stains. We always recommend sealing concrete floors for this very reason, however if your concrete floor is unsealed and a urine stain does happen to occur, there are products on the market which will easily rid them.

2) Easy to clean.

Cleaning has never been so easy! If your floors are concrete, just give the floor a few swipes with a broom, towel or mop, and the “Kazam” the pet mess is history! See our latest blog for tips on Maintaining Polished Concrete Floors.

3) They won’t trap pet dander, fleas or mites.

In conjunction to pet fur, pets shed animal dander (flakes of skin). This can aggravate allergies in people who are hyper sensitive to them. Smooth floor surfaces such as concrete flooring won’t trap this fur and dander the way carpet flooring will. Mites and fleas in particular are very persistent and hard to rid, concrete floors will not harbor fleas or mites that your pet might carry home.

4) They are nontoxic.

Many synthetic carpets emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as can some of the products that accompany the installation of the carpet, such as adhesives and padding, Concrete floors, stained with nontoxic pigments, do not release VOCs that can be harmful to you as well as your pets, ensuring safe exploration and play through out your home.

5) They are scratch resistant.

Concrete floors are inherently scratch resistant if maintained the right way. With a great sealer or floor wax, they are virtually scratch proof, keeping your flooring safe from playful, rambunctious pets and their claws.
