FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions about Polished Concrete
Are polished concrete floors expensive?
When compared with high-end floor coverings, such as ceramic tile, slate and marble, polished concrete floors are often an economic alternative. Prices will vary according to factors such as floor size, level of exposure and current condition of the concrete.
Are concrete floors cold?
We hear this FAQ often since concrete flooring can be cold, but no more so than ceramic tile or natural stone flooring.
If used with direct sunlight, the floor can absorb heat that slowly releases throughout the rest of the day which other floor surfaces can’t.
Concrete has the reputation of looking cold, but by pairing your floors with warm colours and materials your home doesn’t have to look cold.
Are concrete floors slippery?
Depending on your need, there are a variety of non slip options for your concrete floors. Non slip protectants are available for most of our polished concrete services for all areas including indoors and around wet areas.
As with other hard flooring surfaces such as vinyl, linoleum, marble or ceramic tile floors, polished concrete floors can become slippery when wet. But typically when clean and dry, polished concrete floors are safe to walk on.
