We love just as much to produce a piece of concrete artwork like our latest acid etching project in Yarra Glen.
Polished concrete floors are not just about creating floors that you can see yourself in.
For quality polished concrete floors we use acid etching.
What is Acid Etching?
Acid etching is a process used to prepare polished concrete floors for staining or sealing. The process involves applying an acid solution to the concrete surface which reacts with the minerals in the concrete to create a rough porous surface. This allows for better adhesion of stains and sealers.
We use acid etching to give your polished concrete floor a more consistent and durable finish.
This project at Yarra Glen is the perfect example of how great the acid etching process looks with polished concrete Melbourne floors. Acid etching is a fantastic way to bring out the texture and unique variability and contrast of your concrete.
How is it done?
The acid etching process is quick and straightforward.
A mixture of hydrochloric acid and water is applied to the concrete surface and agitated with our specialised equipment. Once it’s allowed to sit on the surface, typically between ten to fifteen minutes, we neutralize the acid with a baking soda and water solution by thoroughly rinsing the surface with water. Once the surface is clean and dry, a stain or seal is then applied.
Call the professionals!
Though it sounds simple, this is not something you should try yourself.
The chemical interactions and reactions can be dangerous and should only be done by professionals who know how to take the proper safety precautions.

Why choose acid etching?
The acid etching process allows your intended stain or seals to achieve a much better level of penetration.
The finished result will not only look fantastic but it will also be more durable and long-lasting. This process can really bring out the style and aesthetic of your new or existing concrete floors and enhance your overall property look and value. Just have a look at these pictures!
