Looking for inspo for your retail or commercial floors? This Grind and Seal Narre Warren job is just the ticket!
While we’ve been showing off a large number of residential jobs recently, the truth is, many of our clients are actually shop owners looking to spruce up their businesses. Our latest job was one of these – an up-and-coming furniture store looking for grind and seal in Narre Warren.
At this Narre Warren store, we were hired to remove the existing floor, lay down concrete, and polish it using the grind and seal method with a water-based two-pack epoxy finish.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the details!
What is grind and seal polished concrete?
Grind and seal concrete sees a concrete slab grinded down until smooth and blemish-free. Grout and topical sealer are then applied to achieve the glossy shine we all know and love. This is in contrast to the traditional polished concrete methods, whereby a slab is manually grinded down numerous times with state-of-the-art grinders with industrial diamond abrasives until a shine is achieved naturally.
While this latter method is generally considered more desirable, it can take an extraordinary amount of time and cost more. Grind and seal, on the other hand, is much simpler and requires far less actual grinding, making it a more effective solution for large, industrial floors like our latest work in Narre Warren.
What is a water-based two-pack epoxy finish?
The sealing agent we used for our latest work in Narre Warren was a water-based two pack epoxy finish. This kind of sealing agent is known for having little odour while being resistant to physical damage. While stronger sealing agents are also available, we tend to save them for warehouses or factories, and felt that they were not needed in a furniture store.
As you can see from the photos, this grind and seal job in Narre Warren was huge! The total floor space was a whopping 750m2, making it one of our largest jobs to date. While it definitely took a while to complete, this is no hassle for the professional Eco Grind crew. Needless to say, Narre Warren is going to be set for furniture!
