Grind and Seal Berwick

What happens during a grind and seal?

Grind and seal is a method of finishing concrete by grinding back the top layer to expose the stone and achieve a flat, hard-wearing surface which can then be finished with a matte, satin or gloss surface.

The process begins with prepping the concrete surface, removing any impurities to bring it back to a clean and smooth area before we grind it. No matter what condition your current concrete floor is in, we can evaluate and repair it to convert it into the kind of floor you require.

Using heavy duty polishing machines that are equipped with diamond abrasive grits we grind down the surface of the floor to the desired level of shine and smoothness.

After the grinding is complete, the next step is to seal the surface. A high-quality, clear epoxy or polyurethane sealer is applied to the concrete. This sealer not only enhances the aesthetics of the floor by creating a glossy finish, but also serves as a protective barrier against stains, moisture and everyday wear and tear. The sealer is available in various levels of sheen, allowing for further customisation to achieve the desired look of your floor.

Why should you get a grind and seal done?

  • The biggest reason is the potential to give your floors an amazing look and feel!
  • It’s a durable flooring option, making it great for high traffic areas.
  • When it comes to looking after it, maintenance is a very low-key affair. Regular sweeping and occasional mopping are usually sufficient to keep them looking pristine. The sealed surface also makes it easier to clean spills and stains.
  • It’s a cost effective and eco-friendly way to have great looking floors.
